"Clipper clip-on"

Small clip-on microphones with radio transmitters are quite commonplace these days.

Imagine a standard, established by the law enforcement community, wherby each ``good citizen'' would wear one, and all transmitted speech would be recorded at the police department. To protect ``privacy'', only authorized law enforcement officials could access the data.

Would you be a ``good citizen'' and wear one? I think most of us would agree that ``privacy'' (in double quotes) above refers to a kind of `pseudo-privacy'.

How `pseudo-privacy' advocates can actually harm the cause of privacy.
